Rick Pitino talks about Roburt Sallie, new coaching hires, changing Louisville's brand and Preston (?) Knowles. Two notes: 1. It seems evident from this press conference that Preston was in Pitino's doghouse prior to the recent hairbrush incident. The way Pitino mentioned the word "student" and then made the Scott Padgett reference seems to point to an academic issue. It should be no surprise Pitino is making this issue public for his own reasons but I would be surprised if Preston misses any games for this. 2. You'll never catch me telling someone how our team's brand has tremendous upside but I grasp what this particular bit of coachspeak is implying. That is, the basketball program needs to prudently re-tool its playing style and recruiting strategy. Nonetheless, opening the new downtown arena against Butler on November 16th should provide a very tangible transition for our brand (as well as KFC).
