Eli Holman lives every Louisville fan's dream

Just in case you hadn't heard, things aren't exactly peachy keen up I-65 (and over some interesting backroads) in Bloomington.

Police had to be called to a meeting between a member of the I.U. basketball team and their new head coach.

It's just the latest in a long list of problems for the program. Earlier Thursday night, new coach Tom Crean met with freshman Eli Holman to discuss his future with the team. That's when things got ugly.

Holman apparently decided he no longer wanted to play for the Hoosiers and met with Crean Thursday night to request his release from the program. However, by the end of the meeting, things became so heated Holman reportedly threw a plant at Crean. Campus police had to be called to Assembly Hall.

With Holman and DeAndre Thomas (the fat one) transferring, Armon Bassett and JaMarcus Ellis dismissed from the program, Eric Gordon headed to the NBA, and D.J. White and Lance Stemler graduating, Indiana now has just three returning players for the 2008-2009 season: Jordan Crawford, Kyle Taber and Brandon McGee.

I'll say it again, Kelvin Sampson was the worst hire in collegiate athletics in the past 15 years. And I'll also say this again: please, please, please renew this series.

I will support Eli Holman wherever he chooses to take his game.

I don't know...
why did the U of L/IU series end all those years ago?  At one time the rumor was circulating that Bobby Knight and Denny clashed over recruiting but I never confirmed that with anyone.  I wish we could bump UK from our schedule and add IU.  Wishful thinking I guess. Too funny that the kid threw the plant at Crean; I've wanted to throw something at him for years.

I believe
coach Knight didn't want to play Denny because they are good friends.
