Ted Roof bolts to Minnesota

Louisville is once again in the market for a linebackers coach as freshly-hired Ted Roof has accepted an offer to become the new defensive coordinator at Minnesota.

He landed another one Thursday when he accepted the Gophers defensive coordinator job, according to a person close to Roof.

Roof becomes the team's sixth defensive coordinator since 2000 and the third in three years. He is expected to receive a three-year deal worth $350,000 a year.

The position has had a revolving door so it seems fitting that Gophers coach Tim Brewster hired Roof only three days after Everett Withers officially resigned to take the same position at North Carolina.

Roof was the head coach at Duke for five seasons, but was fired after a 1-11 campaign in 2007. He accepted the linebackers coach position at Louisville on Jan. 6.

He is advertised as both an experienced coach and an excellent recruiter, and many believed he would be the man to take over as defensive coordinator whenever Ron English lands a head coaching job.

Just another punch in the gut.

Best of luck to coach Roof in Minnesota.

Ted Roof era
Could someone put together a video montage of the Ted Roof era at UofL?  I'd really like to just sit and reminisce for a while

Let's see
We've got his introductory press conference, the surveillance video from the Council robbery, throw a little "Remember the Name" over the top of that and you've got something.
