What to read while realizing the guy from "Baby it's Cold Outside" is probably a rapist

"Say, what's in this drink?" Really? I don't care if it's the storm of the century woman, get the hell out of there.

Perhaps my favorite thing in all of the internets is back as Troy Nunes is an Absolute Magician hits us with the minutes from the latest meeting of The Octonion.

Jody Demling helps reaffirm my belief that Jared Swopshire is Francisco Garcia with an afro.

Peter Schrager of FoxSports.com ranks the ten worst losses in college football this season, and Louisville's inexplicable home loss to Syracuse comes in at number six. Six sounds about right, but the list loses any and all credibility when you get to number one. Schrager passes up what will go down as one of the most historic upsets of all-time (Appalachian State over Michigan), a four touchdown upset (Pitt over WVU) and a six touchdown upset (Stanford over USC) that cost both favorites a spot in the national title game in favor of Iowa's loss to Western Michigan. A bad loss? Yes. The worst loss of the season? Not even close.

This is simply the case of a guy saying something unexpected so that people will think he knows a lot about college football. All of us have friends who do exactly the same thing. If in ten years people outside the Hawkeye State are looking back at this season and talking more about the WMU's fifth win than anything else that went down, then I will apologize.

Check out Red Reign, a new Louisville blog which is doing a great job staying on top of all the latest recruiting news.

The latest Mock Draft on NBADraft.net has Earl Clark going at No. 11 to Phoenix, and Derrick Caracter going at No. 34 to the Bulls.

Justin Anderson reports that West Virginia fans are taking the heartbreaking loss to Pitt exactly the way you'd expect West Virginia fans to take a heartbreaking loss to Pitt.

The father of star WVU place kicker Pat McAfee says his son is getting death threats and has had his house and car vandalized.

The usually reliable McAfee missed two short field goals in WVU's monumental upset loss to Pitt on Saturday night in Morgantown.

Tim McAfee told the Daily Mail today that someone posted on his son's Facebook profile that "McAfee must die."

...

"The McAfee family has received support from the TRUE Mountaineer fan," McAfee said in his e-mail. "We have received countless phone calls and e-mails expressing support for Pat at this tough time.

"Pat has not. He has received actual death threats and people telling him they wished he was dead. E-mails, text messages and other ridiculous behavior. His house and car have been vandalized. Groups of 'fans' have stood outside his house chanting negative things. Things have been said to his girlfriend. I am asking that this be stopped."

McAfee said in the e-mail that Pat was embarrassed about the missed kicks, which would have put WVU up by 10 points by halftime.

"Saturday was a hard day for the players and fans of WVU football and will be remembered that way for a long time," McAfee wrote. "But the fans need to realize that these are kids who don't get paid and only try to do their best every opportunity they get."

He said Pat was broken-hearted about his performance.

Rick Pitino  spent last night at a local fundraiser for Rudy Giuliani where he endorsed the former New York City mayor for president. In a related story, I spent last night at a fundraiser on the other side of town where I endorsed actor Barry Pepper for president.

And finally, Stack.com does an "Elite 50" ranking of the 50 best universities in terms of a combination of athletics and academics, and U of L comes in at No. 41. You can go ahead and check it out yourself and then tell me where Kentucky landed.

If DC is a second round, pick then he needs to stay one more year and play his way into the first round.  I don't know that a NBA team is going to draft him in the first round if he can't guard a 5th grader or a 6'3" white guy with a couple of post moves...
