EA Sports unveils its top 50 college basketball players of all-time

I can think of absolutely nothing to write about, so I thought I'd share with you the worst sports list ever concocted. You could take the rosters of every college basketball team in history, post them up on a giant wall, throw 50 darts at that wall, and the names and the list you'd come up with would undoubtedly be better than what you're about to see.

Top 50 College Basketball Players of All-Time

  1. Michael Jordan, North Carolina
  2. Kevin Durant, Texas
  3. Magic Johnson, Michigan State
  4. Clyde Drexler, Houston
  5. Larry Bird, Indiana State
  6. Steve Nash, Santa Clara
  7. Kenny Anderson, Georgia Tech
  8. Chris Bosh, Georgia Tech
  9. Richard Hamilton, Connecticut
  10. Jamal Mashburn, Kentucky
  11. Jason Terry, Arizona
  12. Reggie Williams, Georgetown
  13. Ray Allen, Connecticut
  14. Carmelo Anthony, Syracuse
  15. Butch Beard, Louisville
  16. Travis Best, Georgia Tech

  18. Junior Bridgeman, Louisville
  19. Caron Butler, Connecticut
  20. Mike Dunleavy, Duke
  21. Ben Gordon, Connecticut
  22. Chris Jackson, LSU
  23. Kevin Jackson, California
  24. Jason Kidd, California
  25. Jason Williams, Duke
  26. Randy Livingston, LSU
  27. Kenyon Martin, Cincinnati
  28. Rashad McCants, North Carolina
  29. Laron Profit, Maryland

  46. Joakim Noah, Florida
  47. Ed O'Bannon, UCLA
  48. Glen Rice, Michigan
  49. Cliff Robertson, Connecticut
  50. Dennis Scott, Georgia Tech
So a grand total of three of the best 20 college basketball players of all-time won the Wooden Award? No Russell, no Walton, no Griff, no Alcindor? Brian Evans, Mike Dunleavy, KEITH BOGANS???

Oy vey.

Noah Diakote (Lousiville)
edges out Kentucky's Shegari Alleyne for number 51 on that list

Keith Bogans
is definitely NOT one of the best 50 players of all time. If you put him on there you HAVE to include D-Wade, or even Reece Gaines. God thats a terrible list.

LOL
Andrew Miller, DeMarr Johnson, Keith Bogans, Laron Profit, Mike Dunleavy, Caron Butler, Chris Bosh?  You've got to be kidding me...

Everyone that Mike mentioned, plus Laettner and Chamberlain and Unseld...geez people should do more research before the post crap like this on the internet.

I guess everyone's entitled to their own opinion, no matter how stupid it is.

Go Cards!

Awful, just awful
Laron Profit?  Gimme a break.  And no Artis Gilmore.  In just two years Gilmore put up remarkable numbers.  It's a shame he's not in the basketball hall of fame, and he was even left off the NBA's best 50 of all time list during their recent anniversary celebration.

But ask Kareem Abdul Jabbar who the toughest defensive center he ever played against was, and he'll say Artis Gilmore.  And look up the man's numbers.

Besides that, he's a nice guy.

At a quick glance,
I thought Mike had just randomly picked names just for a little lazy blogging controversy

but then I realized it was a link and that someone "professional(?)" had actually put "thought" into this

then it became really funny

Good God Almighty
Hey Mike - when you're really hard up for a post, you can always pull South Florida babe out - she's tight.

agreed
But for the record:
She is a FL state cowgirl. Goes by the handle of Jen Sterger. Also Jen my Facebook friend, which is the first step in many of making her my wife.

Good God
Rashad McCants?

Ron Mercer?

WTF?

This has to be meant to incite a postal moment.  Where is their corporate office?

You guys are idiots
That's a GREAT list. The only travesty is that Damon Bailey is not on there.

Seriously, that list is awful. There are so many great 1990s players left off that list. Cal Cheney? Scottie Thurman? Grant Hill?! BEAU ZACH SMITH!

ummm
David Thompson ... whom most people call the greatest college basketball player of all-time did not make the list. Wow. Neither did Pistol Pete (unless I missed him). I am physically sick from this ... thanks.

It's inane.
It's UConn heavy and both Donyell Marshall and Emeka Okafore are  were better college players than Caron Butler or Ben Gorden. And Cliff Robertson (Connecticut) who? Did the idiot mean Clifford Robinson? Good college player, because a very good pro? Top 50? Nope.

Of the top of my head no Tim Duncan, Maravich? This guy is a moron.

HUH!
Let me see: No Lew Alcindor, Bill Walton, Bill Russell........What a joke! Is it limited to EA Sports clients or what? Not much else makes sense. The absolute worst (and it's pretty tough competition) top whatever list I've ever seen

You guys are crazy
Maravich made the list. He's right where he should be -- #41, one behind DeMarr Johnson from UC (I like that I might have to remind you of where he even played).

I also like Oscar Robertson 2 spots behind Rashad McCants, who -- unless I am forgetting -- didn't even start during his one college season.

Oh, and imagine you were putting 1 guy from ...
Georgetown on the list.  Who would it be? Ewing?  Iverson?  Mutumbo?  Mourning?  No, stupids.  Reggie Williams.
