Relax everybody, everything's all right

Turns out we're not the biggest upset victims in the history of college football point spread-wise.

This really is the most awesomely ass-backwards college football season of all-time, and I'm loving every second...except for, you know, all the seconds when Louisville's playing. I'm convinced that a two-loss SEC team is going to play an undefeated South Florida in the mythical national championship game.

U of L will always be my wife, but BCS chaos has been my mistress for nine years now. If we're really going to have this inexplicably ridiculous system then I want absolute bedlam, and am willing to cheer for just about anyone to make it happen (see Florida last night).

And it's not just the BCS that's beautifully screwed up at the moment, I mean who the hell is going to win the Heisman? Is Colt Brennan going to win this thing by default?

Maybe that's our problem. Maybe this team is actually unbelievable and it's the year that has issues. Maybe Kragthorpe is actually the best hire since sliced bread (oh it makes sense), and will prove it to all of us by 2008.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to play 18 with Brad Pitt and Jesus, and then it's down to Nashville to start at center for the Titans.

BCS Chaos
I'm with ya on the BCS chaos (nice paraphrase of Scott Van Pelt).

Up until last week, I was rooting for there to be like 5 undefeated teams.  Now, clearly any playoff proponent wants there to be 12 1-loss teams (and maybe an undefeated Hawaii team).

I think LSU's offense is suspect, so I think they will lose.  OSU is a wildcard -- there are just always undefeated, but everyone knows that the Big 10 is typically overrated (see also Bowls, Last Year).

It all goes back to the hissy-fit theory.  Let's say that there are 10 1-loss teams and Oklahoma and Southern Cal make it to the title game.  Somebody has to seriously stand-up and go crazy because their one-loss team didnt make it.

I am really curious to see how far USC drops.  In the past, voters have been so enamored with the Trojans (and #1 teams in general) that they typically fall 1-2 spots.  West Virginia dropped from #5 to #13 after losing on the road to a team (USF) that became #6.  So, by USC losing at home to a terrible Stanford team, they'll have to fall to like #15, right?  Fat chance.  I predict #9.

Gotta be an SEC team
Cheer like hell for all undefeated SEC teams to lose (unless they're playing Kentucky), and then pray that one of them with a legitimate gripe gets left out of the title game.

The same mistress?
Do we have the same mistress? This is getting my nuts by the down.

For a second
I thought this was some new sexual slang that I was unfamiliar with.

Not the SEC...
...I think the Big 10 and the Pac 10 have the biggest problems with the playoff system.

So we really need a 11-1 OSU or an 11-1 USC left out (another fat chance) in favor of an 11-1 LSU (losing in the SEC Championship?) or a 12-0 USF.

But overall, all the 11-1 teams will be AWESOME at end of the year in terms of getting out of the BCS nonsense.

SEC
The Pac 10 and the Big Ten are already strongly opposed to the playoff, and sadly I don't think that having Cal or Ohio State left out of the title game would change anything.

The wound left by an undefeated Auburn not getting a shot to play for it all is still fresh, and I think if we could get two SEC teams in five years passed over the good ole' boys would go ape shit. Like it or not, the SEC is far and away the most powerful conference in the country, and if by some act of God they chose to boycott the BCS, a drastic change would take place.

Give me Cincinnati vs. Hawaii for it all.

UofL bowl game
I would love to see a bowl game between UL and UK but sadly it looks like UL will be going to the motor city bowl if they manage to win 6 games and uk is going to win atleast 9 games so oh well...but it sure would be fun to watch those 2 go at it again.

It's ok though
Because the frequency and tone of such posters will die down quite a bit after DC and Sosa combine for 50 on them at Rupp.
