Well I didn't hear any boos from the crowd on tv
So at least the local media and Rick Pitino can neither chastise nor blame the fans for this game. Maybe they can focus some attention on the real problems here. There appear to be some major league dysfunctional things going on with the program right now. I don't even know what else to say.

LL, I was there, and I'm proud to say there was NO
booing at all.

AND the fans stayed in their seats until Utah pushed it out to a 20 point lead again in the fourth qtr

And, those 10,000 or so remaining cheered madly for a comeback.  No booing at the end at all.

I was exceptionally proud of our fans-- frankly, amazed ,

given our level of play and the fact that were A LOT of fans that really wanted to boo (including me).

f me

If X = the number of yards we need for a 1st down then our strategy on 3rd down was to pass for X - 5

Sketchy Goettsche, has any punter ever had 3 punts for less than 10 yards in a season

& the fake field goal where 40,000 fans & zero coaches see that guy standing out there all by himself

Lord, beer me strength

rushing yards???
26 rushing yards all game!?!?!?   Are you kidding me?  Brohm is great and all but we have to be more balanced.  It seems the coaching staff runs one time then if that does not yield a big gain, they go right back to passing for the next 10 attempts.  Then maybe try to run one more time.

And when we have a 3rd and long and we dump the ball off to a 3-4 yard route....c'mon fellas!!!

I'm not going to even mention the wide out on the fake field goal that was once again wide open.  I don't care who's fault it was, that should NEVER happen.

I think what bothers me the most is the attitude still is lacking on our team.  Second half they came out with the fire I am use to seeing.  They were flying around hitting people.  Then it tapered off.

One positive thing is I didn't hear many people booing tonight.  I heard a few people, and I heard a few people yelling at the "booers" to shut the f up.

We are in for a long season, I'll just keep showing up and wait for the day when we finally turn this boat around again.  I know it's possible, I just don't understand how this team turned around so quickly.

Two straight...
losses at home to teams we would have absolutely humiliated last season (or any other). I have to start pointing fingers at the coaching staff.

"the fake field goal where 40,000 fans

Ohhhh, the low point of low points

As thousands immediately sense  and see it,  and scream  "FAKE"

And a very slow 8 seconds of horror tick by

as our D guys stand and mill around

confused

Apparently not warned of such a definite possibility in advance--nor screamed any warning now

A new high perhaps on  the Idiot Koaching Index (IKI - pronounced "icky")

I would pay good money to see
a match up between the resistable force that is the Notre Dame offense and the movable object that is our defense.

Also
while I don't blame the baby, it's pretty clear he isn't going to be the Nelson de la Rosa of our season.

i was there
and i booed, but i added a little sauce to it.

"Boooooo play calling!"
"Boooooo fake field goal"

anyway, i stayed the whole time and for some reason actually kinda got my hopes up

Mario
Said he had turf toe. Still don't understand why he didnt go in the game...or even dressed!

by Theville on Oct 6, 2007 2:07 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

The not even dressing for the game is the
telling point

turf toe, my ass

head case issues going on everywhere on this team unfortunately

and no real effective coaching control of the situation

crackdown yes--
effective results--no

To Mario's Credit
On the TV coverage of the game they showed a clip of him trying to fire up a teammate. I'm told he also got in the face of JaJuan Spillman last week after Spillman's initial incident with the coaches took place.

Good, I thought he'd quit on the team
but why not dress --how hard is it to be on the uniform?  Am I old-fashioned with this thinking, Mike?
