Louisville Men's Soccer Leads Winthrop 2-0 At The Half

Stay connected for news and updates

A fast start for Louisville leads to a comfortable cushion at the break.

Senior defender Greg Cochrane struck goal in the game's first minute and sophomore midfielder Dylan Mares added another one in the 33rd minute to give Louisville men's soccer a 2-0 lead at halftime in their 2nd round NCAA tournament game vs. Winthrop.

In other Region Four news, #2 seed Maryland scored a late winner to best Brown 2-1 and will face Coastal Carolina in the 3rd round next Sunday. Additionally, the #7 seed Marquette Golden Eagles were upset 1-0 at home by Northwestern, which has big implications for Louisville. If the 10th seeded Cards hang on and beat Winthrop, they'll host Northwestern next Sunday at Cardinal Park where they're 9-2-1 this season.
