Luke Hancock Shoulder Injury

Copied from Nick Coffey @ the Cardinal Connect:

The rumors were flying yesterday afternoon that Louisville swingman Luke Hancock had suffered a shoulder injury and would soon need surgery. The folks at UofL didn’t deny that Hancock had suffered some type of injury, but it doesn’t appear to be as serious as we initially thought. It sounds like this minor injury will not require surgery.

This reportedly occurred during a pick-up game at IU-Southeast earlier this week. I could be wrong, but I believe Hancock had a minor shoulder injury during the season as well. He was allowed to practice with the team during the season, but wasn’t eligible to play in games, due to the NCAA transfer rules.

At this point, it sounds like Hancock will be fine and ready to go once practice begins. If anything changes I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.

Seriously?

This may be the stupidest video I've ever seen.

UK Athletics Directv spoof "Don't Cruise Campus in the Batmobile"

via Cardinal Connect

Since when is cruising campus in the Batmobile a bad thing? I don't know about anyone else, but I'm inclined to believe that the person cruising campus in the Batmobile is, in fact, the most baller person on campus. I mean, come on, goofy 1960's version or not, it's the FREAKING Batmobile!!!

Tom Jurich Will be in the Room when the BCS Discusses Playoffs

Pat Forde has an awesome rundown of All You need to know bout the BCS Meeting and in it he gives a list of who all is attending.

Who is invited: The commissioners of all 11 FBS conferences, plus one athletic director from each league. Among the ADs expected in attendance: Jeremy Foley of Florida, Barry Alvarez of Wisconsin, Joe Castiglione of Oklahoma, Dan Radakovich of Georgia Tech, Pat Haden of USC, Tom Jurich of Louisville and Jack Swarbrick of independent Notre Dame. The bowls also will be represented, as will ESPN, which has the BCS TV contract. BCS executive director Bill Hancock is scheduled to address the media Wednesday and Thursday with updates on the talks.

While it would be cool to be represented by Chuck Neinas instead of John Marinatto, there are perks to being a big fish in a little pond too. Tom Jurich will be in the room when the following is discussed.

What will be discussed: A playoff, and how it will be implemented. A BCS memo acquired by USA Today says there are four primary alternatives for a four-team playoff:

1. Semifinals and final that are hosted by traditional bowls.
2. Semifinals and final that are played at neutral sites, independent of the bowls.
3. Semifinals at bowls, with a championship game that is bid out to a host city.
4. On-campus semifinals hosted by the top two seeds, with the final at a bowl site.

There are other plans that have been broached, including one floated by the Pac-12 and Big Ten that potentially would force the Rose Bowl into the semifinal mix as a sort of third semi. It's complicated, cumbersome and not completely embraced even by those that brought it up in the first place. And it has little chance.

Rick Pitino Illustration and Time Lapse Video

I just finished a Rick Pitino illustration, and decided to do something a little different with this one. I created a wallpaper using the illustration (as usual), but this time I made a video kind of showing the process I go through when doing an illustration. Thought it might be cool for people to see how bad these start out looking (and some may say they end that way too). Take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

Finally shared my artwork with the world. SIVA!!!!

Mike Rutherford "liked" it! LOL. I'm not familiar with the instructions to post a photo with HTML, so I'll post the facebook link. First time I've shared my sketches with the world wide web, always been hesitant to who I show it to in person. Dunno why I shared before it was finished, but the urge hit me, so I went for it. I'll share it with you guys as well. Some of you have already seen it, some of you may not, so here goes. Be gentle, folks! I am an amatuer at best!!!

Peyton Siva

Once I posted it, I got a little cocky, so I shared a football sketch as well. It is finished, however.

Michael Bush

Thanks for allowing me to share!!!

Good Story about T-Will

I thought this was a good read about TWill and the mark he has made on the Kings so far. I was really interested to hear about his recruiting visit and playing Cisco. Very funny. Hopefully, TWill can continue to be the facilitator that the Kings need and he can lock up a long term position on their team. With their young nucleus they could end up being a pretty decent team.

Expectations have never been this high.

I have been a Louisville fan for 10 years since I was 9 and I have seen some great teams in the past. When T-Will was here with Earl and Andre and also the Final Four team with Francisco and O'Bannon and Dean. Still, I think this year, this team has a legitimate shot at cutting down the nets in March. Everybody is coming back and no offense (I loved Chris and Kuric) but with them gone we become faster. If Hancock is as good as Pitino says he is then this team is gonna go crazy. Blackshear needs to stay healthy because he is so good I dont even think Pitino knows how good he can be. Siva and Smith will be the scariest full court pressure guards in the nation. Can any other team beat Louisville besides Indiana? I don't see to many. Gorgui is a wonderful role model and if he develops into a steady player he could be a lottery pick. If this team remains healthy and with Pitino trying to go out with a bang, I think this squad is going to be a team we will never forget.

Brian Brohm Wallpaper/Illustration

The next illustration up is a little change of gears with some football. It also isn't a current football player, but Cardinal great and hometown hero Brian Brohm. Brohm lead the Cardinals to one of the most exciting seasons of football that I can remember, and was a big reason I started to care about Louisville Football. Brohm's career as a Cardinal didn't just earn the program national respect, it also gained Mr. Brohm his fair share of accolades. He was named C-USA freshman of the year, Big East Offensive Player of the Year, 1st Team All Big East QB, Heisman Trophy Finalist, and Orange Bowl MVP. I know that I'm not alone when I say that Brohm is my favorite UofL football player, he will always be a Cardinal.

Defining Moments of a Fanhood

09-mario_medium

If I close my eyes and go back to September 16th 2006, I can still see Mario Urrutia streaking down the field with his arm extended.

There he is fending off Lovon Ponder, like he was the pesky little brother whom he was far too busy to deal with at the moment. I can still see the faces of the people behind me as I stood on my seat and turned around to high five everyone within reach. I can even remember seeing my leg shaking up and down after the extra point was kicked and I finally sat down for the first time that afternoon.

It was my defining moment as a Cardinal fan. It was a moment that I can still recall with photographic clarity, why? I'll tell you why.....

Expectations way to low,but we'll see how it goes............

March was pretty-nice(except for that damn team winnin it all),can't & won't knock that run & hopefully the deep run is a start of a spring tradition. Of course one month doesn't change my opinion that the coaches tenure has still not met expectations. My question is for CARDS fans, are you guys truly satisfied with the hoops program? Was the unexpected FF4 run all you guys need to sit back & thank this program is where it needs to be? In 11 seasons 2-2 in the elite8 & 0-2 in FF4( & a nasty sex-scandel) is our money's worth? I wonder.... am I wrong for believing we should be in the hunt for the best recruits,& we should always be in the hunt for a national title? There is nothing wrong with expecting the BEST for this hoops program.I understand having the coaches back, but some of it is just non-sense when you thank about where this program should be @ this point in time.As much as UK b-ball fans tick me off, they hold there program, players,& coaches to a certain level, they even ran a class-act coach out who had 1nat.title & was 1-3 in elite8's in 10seasons. I'm not saying we should carry-on & act like ignorant loud mouth blu-veiners, but maybe we should go by there expectations/standards some.We have the best facilities in CBB,coach is more than well-paid so these next few seasons have got to be banner seasons, nothing less!! If the coach can lead us to a title he should get that HOF call ,real-real soon, but I really have my doubts. In the last 20+ sesons this guy has coached the knicks,UK,celtics,& the best urban university in the country but yet has netted only 1 national championship(& that took 6 NBA draft picks). Most of you homers won't like this post,i'm sure you folks won't agree but I have the right to voice how I feel & I thought it feel like 80&86 around here already. To everyone who's a fan & loves & enjoys this great game&program that disagrees with coaches decisions, recruitng, style of play,etc.......don't be afraid to speak up ,you need to be heard, because if you go by comments by most fans of this site you would've thought he's hung 3 or 4 championship banners by now.Go CARDS & hopefully next years 4th st. celebration is for a championship..............p.s please BEAT UK!!!!!
