Chris Lofton in walking boot

You hate to hear this:

Tennessee men's coach Bruce Pearl said senior guard Chris Lofton was in a protective walking boot Monday, but is expected to play in Thursday's game in Charlotte, N.C., against Louisville.

Lofton suffered the injury during Sunday's win against Butler that moved the Vols into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.

"Chris tweaked his ankle in the first half," Pearl said. "He will be evaluated the next couple of days, but we anticipate he will play Thursday."

I think this just about guarantees that he'll score at least 25.

Boot or no boot
If we play like we did on Saturday, they're going down.

I don't want to jinx myself though.

What a ploy
An all-state soccer playing friend often talks about wearing a boot before a big game to lull the oher team into a false sense of superiority.

I hope the Cards don't fall for it.

Time was, a win was WIN, now it's just a win.

mind games
they didn't work for the Pats, they won't work for UT. If UT wins it will be b/c they played outstanding D and we played questionable D and worse offense. I am encouraged if a) Lofton is injured or b) Pearl thinks they need gamesmanship to win.

I seriously doubt it's mind games.
Lofton missed a practice on account of the foot.  I can't imagine that Pearl would have kept him out of practice on a ploy when he's still getting Prince worked up to be his point guard.  Getting Lofton and JP on the same page has to be a much bigger priority than any mind games he could play.
