“Papa” John Schnatter, who made headlines earlier this month for his criticism of Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich, has resigned from his position on the U of L athletic association board.
WDRB has confirmed that Schnatter has been replaced on the board by Jim Rogers.
Schnatter still holds his position on U of L’s Board of Trustees. He attended (although he was late) the board’s latest meeting on Wednesday, but raced by media members afterward, saying only that he was “happy”with U of L Interim President Greg Postel stating that he would be taking a “thorough look” into Cardinal athletics.
Since his very public statements two weeks ago, Schnatter still has yet to clarify what exactly he was talking about when he stated that U of L needed to “fix” athletics. His comments about a conversation with Postel where he said the President referred to Jurich as “invisible” have also since been shot down by Postel himself.
If Schnatter does clarify his position in the future, it won’t be at a board meeting of the Louisville athletic association.
