A new James Quick

Coming in to this year I thought Jamari staples was going to have a breakout year and potentially become a second round draft pick. I thought James would be a close second in receiving statistics but would not have the body of work or the measureables to get drafted. However, something about Quick through these first four games has me quite befuddled. No longer, does he try and run for a td before the ball is in his hands. He looks like he has laser focus, catching almost everything thrown his way and has made several big time plays. It appears that he is our biggest threat as a pass catcher and that he is trying his best to live up to the potential that we all thought he would reach when he came in as a highly touted recruit. Torching FSU 2 years in a row and having the second most yards on the team last year shows that he is a talented receiver, but this year he is on pace to be the first 1000 yd receiver for Louisville since a man by the name of Harry Douglas accomplished that feat in 2007. I thought coming in to the year that if Quick wanted to get drafted he would have to make a big statement. Through these first four games he definitely has. If he can continue to put up the 100 yd games and keep his focus on catching everything thrown his way I think he may find himself in the middle portion of this year's draft. I wish James and Jamari the best of luck as they continue this season, and I hope that they both eclipse 1000 yds and take their nfl pay day. This coming after taking us to the promised land of the college football playoff, of course. Go Cards, and Beat Clemson!!
