Thoughts: Roundtree was a last minute addition to the football team in August of last year coming over from Eastern Arizona (JUCO) just weeks before the season was scheduled to begin. At the time most assumed the late addition was because the coaching staff was nervous about the depth on the line and needed another athletic lineman just in case Thomas, Christian, or McNeil didn’t quite pan out. I think its safe to say that was a solid assumption, and fortunately those young players performed well enough that the Cardinals didn't need to push the late arriving Roundtree onto the field. That’s the good news. Want even better news? Roundtree, a very big and physical player who will most likely end up at tackle, still has three years of eligibility left, which is a huge positive for Coach K who would love to see more and more young players to start to step up.
Roundtree was actually planning to try and enroll this current offseason but was able to complete all the necessary academic requirements to slip onto the roster in 2015 (I think they used a blueshirt on him, but not possitive). Even though the Cards didn’t use his services in 2015, having him on campus, practicing, getting to know the system, etc is extremely valuable moving forward. As we’ve witnessed the last two years, the cupboard wasn’t exactly stocked...and was frankly gathering dust…in terms of depth on the offensive line when Strong left. Petrino and Klenakis have done their best to go and get talented lineman on the recruiting trail from both the high school and the JUCO level but it takes time to get everyone up to speed and gelling together (Do people still say ‘Are you gellin?’ Geez, I hope not). I think at the end of last year we started to see the talent begin to emerge and hopefully 2016 we see a culmination of sorts, putting together the pieces we’ve grabbed the last three seasons. While I personally think McNeil and Christian will be our starting tackles this year, we obviously could use some reinforcements and Roundtree should be a great addition to that second team.

This was prior to Game 5, where Bron’ Bron’ dropped 41 on em’….then proceeded to lead his team in victories in Games 6 and 7 as well. I'm not an NBA guy, but that was some entertaining basketball the last couple weeks. There will always be critics...always...but tough to argue that James isn't a Top 5 player of all-time.
I’m not saying…I’m just saying.
