Card Chronicle Video Game Challenge Cyber-16 - MONDAY

File-megamanssb4_medium

Welcome back, fellow gamers and Chronicloids. I hope you had yourselves a fantastic weekend. Now we continue on with the CCVGC...

HYRULE REGIONAL:

(5) Half-Life vs. (1) Super Mario

Half-Life has great potential to provide Mario with his very first test of the challenge. Mario is definitely the hands-down king of video games, but Half-Life is amazing as well, and one of the most beloved PC franchises of all time. I think Mario will prove to be too much for Gordon Freeman, but Half-Life may still keep it close.

(7) Metroid vs. (3) Mega Man

Samus Aran is here by way of her upset victory over #2 seed BioShock. But now she has a different challenge on her hands, with the blue bomber, one of the most popular NES franchises ever. In the end, Mega Man has a huge arsenal of weapons, that I believe will carry him into the regional finals for a date with Mario/Half-Life.

ANGEL ISLAND REGIONAL:

(12) Castlevania vs. (1) Legend of Zelda

It's been quite a run for Simon Belmont and Castlevania. But unfortunately, it appears as though that run is coming to an end. Simon and the rest of the Castlevania crew are completely overwhelmed in this match-up by Link and Zelda alone.

(3) Halo vs. (2) Resident Evil

By far the best Cyber-16 match-up of the day. Master Chief vs. Chris Redfield. The Arbiter vs. Leon Kennedy. The Umbrella Corporation vs. The Covenant. The Zombies of RE vs. The Flood. This one has great match-ups all-around. What makes it more interesting, is the fact that both of these franchises are here by way of a 1-vote victory in the Round of 32 (Halo defeated Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil beat Pac-Man.) If forced to guess, I would say that Halo will come away victorious, but this one is truly a toss-up. Can't wait to see how this one pans out.

Y'all know the drill... my analyses suck and you have 24 hours.
