ESPN.com article in full
While in "the reading room" I was looking at CFB on ESPN.com searching for ACC info and stories when this one caught my eye. It seems two Longhorn WR's have been suspended pending the investigation of an alleged sexual assault of a female student in one of the players dorms. This strikes CS at one of the core values he tries to instill in his players as reflected by statements made recently by Calvin Pryor from CCFNN "No one should put his hands on a woman," said the New York Jets' first-round pick. "That's the way I was raised. If you put your hands on a woman, it means you're scared to hit a guy." I hate the idea of any male student taking inappropriate action with any woman but I am especially aggravated with the actions of far too many college athletes. I applaud Pryor for his statement and admire the efforts of CS to instill the value of respect for women in his athletes. We need more NFL players, more major CFB coaches, more universities insisting and expecting and demanding respectful behavior from the athletes in our universities. OCO (one Cloids opinion)
