The Cardinal Countdown...61 days until kickoff

David Manning-USA TODAY Sports

#61 Tobijah Hughley

Class: RS Sophomore

Ht/Wt: 6-3/289

Position: Offensive Line

Hometown: Lexington, KY

Twitter: @tobijah68

Thoughts: Tobijah was a nice steal out of Lexington a couple years ago. After taking a redshirt his freshman year, Tobijah now has three years of eligibility left and I think he could slide nicely into the center position after the departure of Jake Smith. With Bridges gone, Tobijah seems to be the next logical choice to back up Smith and he has the size to be impactful as we get into ACC play. Hughley is another guy I’d like to see put on some weight while maintaining his agility once he’s hovering around three bills on the scale. I’ll be interested to see how Tobijah performs this year and where McGeee and Petrino feel he best fits in along the line.

Sweet Tweet:

Tobijah’s tweets about as often as you’ll see a Kentucky football fan in November. Obviously this tweet was from a couple years ago but we’ll just roll with it…

I remember looking forward to college. It was going to be amazing. Girls everywhere, parties every weekend, tons of free time and doing nothing but hanging out with friends and occasionally making it to a class or two. That….that….is NOT what engineering school was like. There were in fact zero females, there were never any good parties and I had no free time trying to balance 15 hour semesters, working part time and studying. (This is the part where you feel sorry for little ole me) But, times have changed and all that hard work actually earned me a degree and a nice job. So those of you hammering through right now, keep your head up. It pays off! I remember walking across the stage and getting my diploma like it was yesterday. While others were fist pumping or yelling I decided to go with a Sammy Sosa double chest thump and point to the sky (a timely reference even back in 2005). Yeah, it was stupid, but at least I didn’t do this…

Ahhhhh, college.
