The writing is on the wall, I suppose, for Peyton Siva. After such a great start in summer league play, he tweaks a hamstring and the Pistons go out and sign DJ Augustin to a two year, $6 million deal. The one glimmer of hope for Peyton in all this is that Augustin was waved by Toronto a year ago before he was picked up by Chicago, where he shot 40 percent from the three-point line.
So if Detroit releases one of the best human beings on earth, perhaps there will be another team in that horrid league that will value character and personal traits, as well as quickness and defensive ability, and sign Peyton. He damn well ought to be playing in the league if DJ Augustin is playing.
Here's hoping that all this worrying about our boy's future is for naught. Here's hoping his leg heals and he eats Augustin alive in practice.
