I had to think of something less 'NCAA-ish' than 'sweet' for the round of 16. Don't like it? Too bad (you love it you know you do).
The in-depth analysis below is null and void. It's time to put up or shut up.
(1) Looney Tunes vs. (4) Doug
Doug had an emotionally draining slugfest with conference mate Rugrats on Friday that ended in a squeaker. Doug jumped out to an early lead and resisted a late push by Tommy and Chuckie...and then scored the final four (no pun I promise) votes to take a 33-31 victory into the showdown with Looney Tunes. Bugs' defensive unit only surrendered one vote to UnderDog in the last round. This could get as slimy as a Nematode for Mr. Funnie.
(3) DuckTales vs. (7) South Park
Scrooge and the lads have had a relatively easy go thus far...but South Park just unseated a 2-seed legend in Tom and Jerry. In a perfect world, we'd settle this by playing each show's video game(s) all day with beer and pizza. But instead...we do it in a much less awesome fashion. The winner gets a shot at either Doug or the group led by the wascally wabbit.
(1) Animaniacs vs. (13) Futurama
It is glaringly apparent that Futurama was given the shaft by the committee (read: y'all), and their results thus far in two comfortable wins over Thundercats AND Transformers prove so. Not quite the darling of the tournament (he eats spinach and plays tomorrow)...Fry and Bender have carried the squad thus far. A win over Animaniacs (who are dumptrucking fools) would have everyone saying 'Why Not Zoidberg?'
(3) Ren and Stimpy vs. (2) Rocky and Bullwinkle
Cat and Dog vs. Moose and Squirrel. This portion of the bracket is all chalk and now it comes down to old vs. new(er) for a shot at either Animaniacs or Futurcinderellama in Bikini Bottom. neither show has been truly challenged to this point...but this is shaping up to be an absolute slugfest.
Go. Vote. Now!
