It came as little surprise, but Dan McDonnell confirmed on Tuesday that he will keep the same starting rotation of Kyle Funkhouser, Anthony Kidston and Josh Rogers for this weekend's best of three super regional series against Kennesaw State.
It'll be the same trio that started Louisville's three regional games last weekend, where the Cards surrendered just four total runs in 27 innings.
The weekend began with Funkhouser earning his school-record 13th victory by striking out 10 and allowing just four hits in a 5-0 win over Kent State. Kidston then threw seven solid innings against Kansas to move to 8-0 on the season, while Rogers worked into the seventh in the Cards' 4-1 win over Kentucky.
Of the 16 teams still standing, I can't imagine there are many who feel better about their staff heading into this weekend than McDonnell's.
