A Sincere, Heartfelt THANK YOU to the Greatest Fans in the World

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

When I very first started making the blurays, I used to joke about the minimal proceeds going to my personal beer fund. Truth is, I make very little profit from these sales. When factoring in expenses such as materials (discs, cases, paper, ink, packaging, tape, etc), the complimentary shipping I include, and PayPal and Uncle Sam taking their cuts, there really isn’t a whole lot left (which is the way I want it). This is a labor of love. I LOVE my team, and I LOVE my fellow fans. The Cards are my happy place, and you are like my extended family.

Last year I lost my father after he endured a long string of health issues complete with cardiomyopathy, diabetes, neuropathy, and rheumatoid arthritis among the most severe. He was a devout UofL fan, and ironically, his long-term battle concluded shortly after he witnessed Louisville win their third National Championship in basketball. As a matter of fact, I was attending his wake and funeral the same time my very first string of bluray orders were coming through from you, my fellow Card fans.

If anyone has been curious as to where the proceeds of these sales are going, I’d like to share it with you all publicly for the first time:

All proceeds are going to lingering funeral costs, including this marker, which we were finally able to place recently, largely because of YOU. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much. Losing a loved one is never easy. The past year has been really tough for my family. Getting over the loss alone is challenging enough in it's own right. Having the financial burden associated with it makes everything worse. The strain of that aspect has been eased at the hands of my Cardinal Brethren. I thank you, and my family thanks you. I can't even begin to tell you what it meant to me when my mother was crying about everything and I presented her with a check to put toward all of this, and I finally saw the first signs of relief in her eyes. Absolutely priceless.

In appreciation; I have a new offer for anyone looking to pick up the high def library, and it will run throughout the entire summer, with the proceeds continuing to go to the same cause. Thank you all so much. Love live Card Nation. We come together through sports, but the things we accomplish outside of athletics goes far beyond. I am truly thankful to be a part of this community.
