Kentucky Derby Classic Preview

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Kentucky Derby Basketball Classic game is Friday night and will feature a lot of local signees. Here are some things to watch for if you're at the game:

1. Green vs. White

Green team will be the slight favorite, and will feature probably the best player in Goodluck Okonoboh. The green team will feature mostly players from Indiana/UNLV/Maryland and the white will have 3 Louisville players on it. So, if the white team can hang, that is good sign for us.

2. Players to watch:

Goodluck Okonoboh - As we mentioned above, he is probably the best player in the game. He is raw in the post, but is a great shot blocker and protects the rim well. It will be interesting to see how he affects the white team as they drive to the basket.

Jaquan Lyle - Former UofL commit that decided one day that he wanted to play for...wait for it...Oregon??? How will the crowd receive him and what did we miss out on?

Robert Johnson - Aggressive scorer and spark plug that likes to shoot aaaaaa lot. He is not afraid to miss and can play both PG and SG. He is going to Indiana.

Max Hoetzel - Pure shooter, is going to Indiana. I'm not sure if he can keep up at the Small Forward position, we will see...

Quentin Snider - Great fundamentals, great shooter and speed. But, how quick is he? Is he Russ fast? How well does he get others involed? All question we will get answered hopefully on Friday.

Jaylen Johnson - The kid was a small forward until he grew 2 inches unexpectedly and now plays power forward. Can he rebound and block shots? Can he guard other power forwards?

Chinanu Onuaku - He is a top 75 player (espn) He is also one of the top 10 centers in the country coming out of high school. Can he compete with Goodluck Okonoboh, who is a top 5 center?

3. Chemistry

Do the 3 Louisville players work well together? Louisville and Florida play a similar style; do Florida and Louisville recruits play well together?
