Shoni Schimmel is one of the 12 former college stars who have been invited to attend Monday's 2014 WNBA Draft at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.
Schimmel will be joined at the draft by Baylor's Odyessey Sims, Stanford's Chiney Ogwumike, Connecticut's Stefanie Dolson and Bria Hartley, Notre Dame's Natalie Achonwa and Kayla McBride, Duke's Chelsea Gray, Tennessee's Meighan Simmons, Florida State's Natasha Howard, Maryland's Alyssa Thomas and North Carolina State's Markeisha Gatling.
The first round of the draft (a round in which Schimmel will almost certainly hear her name called) will begin at 8 p.m. and will be carried on ESPN2. Coverage of the second and third rounds will begin at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
Schimmel leaves U of L as the school's second all-time leading scorer (2,174) and leader in career made three-pointers (387).
