The Louisville women's basketball team has an opportunity to finally knock off Connecticut. True, it's Maryland they'll need to defeat tonight in order to earn a return trip to the Final Four, but the Cards have a golden opportunity to break a Husky record in the process.
The record attendance for an Elite 8 game in the women's NCAA Tournament is 14,855, held by Connecticut. That mark would seem to be (and should be) in serious jeopardy heading into tonight's contest between the Cards and Terps.
You might remember that Louisville drew 22,163 earlier this season when it hosted Connecticut on Senior Day. I think 16,000 plus is doable given that there's a shot at the Final Four on the line AND that this is the last chance folks around these parts have to see live U of L basketball at the Yum Center until November.
There are still plenty of tickets available, call 502-Go-Cards or check out TicketMaster to snag some.
