What an Ncaa tournament we have all witnessed thus far. It all started with the horrendous seedings by the committee, but was followed by very intertaining basketball. The top storylines have featured many upsets, including Mercer over Duke, SF Austin over VCU, North Dakota State over Oklahoma, Harvard over Cincy, and Dayton over Ohio State and Syracuse. There has also been much focus on Wichita's dream season, and their undefeated reign coming to an end, proclaiming Kentucky as the slayer, and the SEC starting the tourney 7-0. But throughout this tournament, and frankly this entire season, no one is talking about the Univeristy of Louisville. Our only mention on ESPN was the near upset against Manhattan. No one is talking repeat. No one is talking about Russ Smith being named one of the four Naismith Award Finalists. This upcoming game on Friday isn't Louisville against Kentucky, for the media its louisville against KENTUCKY.
But the time to change all of this is now. Rick Pitino is perfect in the sweet 16, Luke Hancock is looking like the FFMOP, Trezl is the best he has ever been, and Russ is... well you know... Russ.
So stop fearing this game against Kentucky. Will you have to endure the trash talk the entire week at school or work? Yes. But will it be worth come Monday when you return to work in your freshly bought Final Four T-shirt? OF COURSE IT WILL. So do not fear this game against UK, embrace it... for we have not come all this way to be denied by a bunch of freshman who care only about the NBA, and a fanbase that can even spell the state they live in.
