National Signing Day 2014: Reggie Bonnafon Signs WIth Louisville

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Louisville has its potential quarterback of the future, as Trinity signal caller Reggie Bonnafon has officially signed with the Cards.

The 6'1, 195-pound Bonnafon committed to Louisville on Jan. 6, 2013 before having ever taken a meaningful varsity snap. He played wide receiver for the Shamrocks as a junior while three-year starter Travis Wright finished out his high school career.

Despite a disappointing 6-6 season for his team, Bonnafon was consistently impressive with both his arm and his legs. He signs with the Cards as the No. 7 dual threat quarterback in the class of 2014 according to both ESPN and 247Sports.

Bonnafon showed his full allegiance to U of L in recent weeks when he balked at an attempt by former Cardinal coach Charlie Strong to get him to visit Texas.

Here's the potential heir apparent to Teddy Bridgewater (or Will Gardner) in action during a preseason scrimmage against Highlands:
