Cards at the Combine

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

I haven't seen a thread about this yet so I figured I'd post a quick update on today's results. Both the QBs and WRs worked out today so Teddy as well as Damian Copeland were both there.

Here is a video of Teddy answering some questions there: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/nfl-draft-scout/24452932/nfl-combine-forgotten-1-bridgewater-sets-out-to-prove-it

He originally said he wasn't going to throw but would run and do the other QB drills but later decided not to. He'll do both at his pro day here sometime soon. It was a little disappoint because in his interview he repeated that he's a competitor a few times but didn't compete there. He doesn't have anything to prove, but I think good combine showings with the added pressure make bigger impressions than at a pro day. But still, have to love the confidence.

The other main Cardinal at the combine today was Damian Copeland, who had a pretty impressive showing.

His 40 yard dash was a solid 4.50 seconds, which while not great is in the top half of receivers. He shined, though, in the quickness drills and (surprisingly?) the vertical jump. Damian had the 2nd best vertical (40 inches), the fastest 3 cone drill (6.53 seconds), the 2nd quickest 20 yard shuttle (3.90 seconds), and the 2nd quickest 60 yard shuttle (10.84). I'd expect him to also work out here for a pro day to show off routes and catching skills.

Most analysts so far have Honey Mustard at a long shot of getting drafted and is expected to have to go the free agent route to make a team; but impressive measurables at the combine along with his established route skills and soft hands could help get him selected in a late round.
