Despite multiple reports on Friday that he had already accepted an offer to become the next head football coach at Texas, Charlie Strong informed his staff during a 15-minute meeting Saturday morning that he has not yet made a decision about his future.
According to Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports, at least one "stumbling block" is keeping Strong from accepting a formal offer from Texas at this point.
I'm told there's 1stumbling block keeping Strong-Texas from happening. May get resolved, but not yet. Offer is there, not formally accepted.— Pat Forde (@YahooForde) January 4, 2014
The Louisville coaches did not make any comments to the members of the media waiting outside the Schnellenberger Complex.
U of L athletic director Tom Jurich has been in Colorado this week, but plans to cut his vacation short with the hope of meeting face-to-face with Strong on Saturday. Strong and Jurich spoke on the phone late Friday night.
I suppose we're just going to be doing this again sometime soon. Can't wait.
