Chinanu Onuaku To Announce College Decision Next Tuesday

USA TODAY Sports

Louisville recruit Chinanu Onuaku will choose between the Cardinals and Miami next Tuesday, his high school coach told SNY.com.

Onuaku, a 6-foot-10 center from Upper Marlboro (Md.) Riverdale Baptist, had been slated to visit Indiana this weekend, but canceled that visit earlier this week. U of L has been considered his leader for the past several weeks.

As far as Louisville, they are an appealing option.

"I think he likes the overall school itself, likes the coaching staff and he likes that he could possibly have a chance to play," Wilson said.

Louisville is playing without a true center this year after Gorgui Dieng went to the NBA, but Onuaku could play a similar role beginning in 2014.

"They envision using him as they used the Dieng kid," Wilson said.

The brother of former Syracuse standout Arizne Onuaku, Chinanu Onuaku is currently rated as the No. 65 player in the class of 2014 according to Rivals.com.
