I posted this in a thread but I feel like it needs reiterating: One of the biggest reasons I came to UofL for school is because I wanted to be a part of the student sections. That might not be the best reasoning when making your college choice but I guess that’s what it is like when you grow up a huge fan of a big school like Louisville that is 5 hours away. I can’t understand how a school that has around 22,000 students doesn’t have at least a couple thousand who are as passionate about the football program as I am. I hate to say it but I’m pretty disappointed with the lack of enthusiasm and spirit from my fellow students when it comes to football. I always expected there to be at least a couple hundred students painted up and going insane at the games and then an additional couple thousand students behind them cheering no matter what. I don’t know, maybe a couple thousand rabid students is unreasonable but please, a couple hundred mild ones is just plain weak for any game no matter the opponent. I know SGA, the administration and whoever else is in charge of that stuff could do a better job with incentives and things like that but ultimately its a personal effort from each student who calls themselves a fan. We need to pack the section and cause so much of a stir at the games that the overseeing organizations have no choice but to put more interest in school spirit and the student section. So if there are any students on here reading this.. Please, go crazy with me.
