Quarterback Ross Trail Commits To Louisville

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

There's nothing like a quarterback commitment to end a weekend, and that's exactly what U of L got Sunday night when class of 2015 QB Ross Trail told the staff he wants to play for the Cardinals.

Trail, who stands at 6-foot-2, 196-pounds, is considered one of the top junior quarterbacks in the South, although the 16-year-old has yet to be evaluated by most scouting services. He's spent most of the fall at the center of an eligibility debate after transferring to Olive Branch High School in Mississippi from Wynne High in Arkansas last year. Despite that, he's played in Olive Hill's first four games and led the team to a 4-0 start and a No. 2 state ranking.

While splitting time at quarterback for Wynne last season as a sophomore, Trail completed 38 of 57 passes for 447 yards and six touchdowns, while also rushing 39 times for 201 yards and five touchdowns.

Here's your newest U of L commit in action:
