Thoughts: I think anyone who reads this blog or follows sports in the city of Louisville is aware of who James Quick is. His name has been circulating in local recruiting circles since his sophomore year of high school and it became almost surreal last year with the level of national attention he was getting. Many considered him the best pro prospect to come out of Louisville since Brian Brohm and Michael Bush, and it was hard to argue. I remember watching the Army All-American game and seeing Quick put on the Louisville hat. I think we got a glimpse into what perennial powers feel like each and every season as they continue to pull in amazing talent year after year. The crazy part? You look at our returning wideouts and realize that James may not make the immediate impact he would have only 2-3 years ago. Don't get me wrong, Quick will be on the field his fair share, but my opinion is he doesn't get the start this season except as a punt or kick return specialists. The depth we have this year is amazing so James will need to step his game up to compete with the likes of Copeland, Parker, Rogers, Harris, etc. I didn't make it out to the Cards open practice since I'm out of town, but I read three different accounts of an amazing catch by Quick were he went up high and pulled down a tough ball among some traffic. Almost everyone summed it up the same. Wow.

I think we're all anticipating that Quick has many more "wow" plays in store for us over the next few years.

Sweet Tweet:

Seems like James is getting his first taste of college football. I can't even imagine a hour or two with Strength Coach Moorer, much less a couple weeks. I can go play 18 holes of golf...in a cart, and still feel stiff in places I never knew I could. A lot of respect to these guys. How about I just stick to sitting on my couch with a beer and some chips while you do all the running around. Sound good? Thanks. Go Cards.
