The Cardinal Countdown...37 days till kickoff

#37 Martin Williams

Class: RS Sophomore

Ht/Wt: 6-0/176

Position: Wide Receiver

Hometown: Lawrenceville, Ga

Twitter: NA

Thoughts: To say it was difficult to scrap up any info on Martin would be understatement. I dug deep into the wells that are Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Facebook, Twitter....hell I even looked on Yelp! to see if he wrote any restaurant reviews. I'm no private investigator, but after a solid 15 minutes of searching (what? I'm a busy person) I'm convinced he has removed his digital footprint. Unfortunately for Mr. Williams, he may not have much of a footprint on the 2013 season either. I'm sure he is a talented individual but we are very deep at the wide receiver position this year. Martin could potentially crack a spot on special teams, but appears to be more of a practice player this coming season. Good luck Martin....if that's even your real name.

Sweet Tweet: Yeah right...dude is off the grid.

#37 Tyon Dixon

Class: RS Junior

Ht/Wt: 5-11/214

Position: Linebacker

Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio

Twitter: @GrindHrd247_365

Thoughts: As some of you might remember, the Cards lost Tyon all of last season due to a foot injury. He had actually busted the 2 man rotation at the Mike position back in 2011 seeing action in 5 different games. Tyon did sit out for the Spring game but early reports have him back in action by the fall. It will be a battle to grab some PT at linebacker this year but Tyon proved some of his skills back when he was only a sophomore on a solid bowl team. Look for Tyon to crack the lineup a few times this year and potentially breakout into a starting role next season depending upon his progress.

Sweet Tweet:

Yes, yes he is. I think in the early stages of the "Year of the Cardinal" we didn't quite realize the impact one game could have on the fans, the players, the university, etc. Am I saying if Teddy doesn't play against Rutgers we don't win a championship in basketball? No. But if Teddy stays out and Will can't lead us to the 'W' we likely go to a middle-tier bowl. The buzz isn't surrounding the program and the fan base, maybe we're not tearing up the recruiting trail, maybe the other sports lack that extra motivational push...I know, we could play the hypothetical game all day. My point being that this tweet shows just how important Teddy not only is to the fans and coaching staff, but his teammates as well. I'm just glad he has another year here. Can you imagine loosing Teddy, Siva and Gorgui in the same year? Mass hysteria!

One more year of this kid people. Enjoy it.

(P.S. Mike, Whats up with these SB Nation ads? Does Wes Welker piss his pants now?)
