It would seem as though the excuse that the University of Florida's football team was "disinterested" in playing against the University of Louisville in the 2013 Sugar Bowl, thus leading to their 33-23 downfall, has finally been slain. And by none other than the starting quarterback for the Gators in that game, Mr. Jeff Driskel.
"It was embarrassing," Driskel said of the Sugar Bowl. "They tore us up on offense and defense. Louisville played a great game. It's not like we weren't prepared. We were very prepared for the game. We didn't take them lightly. They just beat us."
For some, simply reporting this quote will not be enough. We all know who those "some" are, be it Kirk Herbstreit or some of the blue fans down I-64. So, for these people who may not believe the printed word, allow me to share the video of the words being spoken at the 2013 SEC Media Days:
Rest in Peace, disinterested. And go Cards!
