How Louisville will finish out the 2014 football recruiting class. (It only gets better from here.)

After adding Ohio OL Danny Burns and Florida DE Rashawn Shaw, Louisville now has committments from 18 players in the class of 2014. In the 2013 class we were only able to sign 17 players thanks in some part to our dear old friend Steve Kragthorpe. Some critics (including myself at one point) were a little disappointed coming off of a Sugar Bowl victory only to land 3-star after 3-star and so on. This is true but this is a good thing! Charlie and the staff have filled out important pieces and it will only get better from here. Have any of you checked our current recruits on ESPN Recruiting Nation? You should, we currently have 5! 4-stars for the class: WR Isaiah Ford (82) RB Daniel Gresham (81) WR Desean Blair (81) OT Kavaris Harkless (80) and S Michael Johnson (80). The great thing is Charlie can now be more be more picky on who they want to take. With around 7 spots left these are our main targets:

DT: 1) Travonte Valentine FL (unanimous 4-star who was once committed to Louisville last summer.) 2) Daniel Cage OH(4-star on ESPN, 247, Scout) All 4 crystal ball predictions on 247 have him picking the Cards. 3) Poona Ford SC (4-star) We have missed out late on big time DT's in the past but this year will be different.

LB: After recently losing Detric Dukes to Georgia, Louisville will be focusing on a couple elite LB's:1) Brandon Lee IN(4-star on 247, ESPN, Scout) All 7 predictions on 247 have him choosing Louisville. 2) Sharieff Rhaheed FL (Current LSU commit) teammates with new commit Rashawn Shaw. Rhaheed enjoyed his visit to Louisville last week and could flip to Louisville anytime. He is 132nd in the ESPN150. 3) Isaac Stewart NC (unanimous 3-star) 4) Dameon Willis OH (3-star)

DB: Andre Godfrey FL (high rated 3-star) Already have 5 DB's committed, probably only taking one more DB.

RB: Have Daniel Gresham as the downhill runner, also looking to add Johnathan Vickers to compliment Gresham.

OL: Probably take 1 more O-Lineman, someone like Ray Raulerson or Montel McBride

DE: Terry Ramsey OH, Michael Preddy SC

The guys we really need to land are Valentine or Cage and Lee that would fill out the class to be pretty good
