The Cardinal Countdown...82 days till kickoff

And we're back!

#82 Eli Rogers

Class: Junior

Ht/Wt: 5-10/182

Position: Wide Reciever

Hometown: Miami, FL

Twitter: NA

Thoughts: Eli, as I stated last year during the countdown, is one one of my favoriter Cardinals. I know his childhood buddy Teddy gets the majority of the press, deservingly so, but Eli is the cornerstone to this wideout crop. Last season Eli was second on the team in receptions and touchdowns and third on the team with receiving yards. Eli is a true stat stuffer who shows up in every game and is as reliable as they come. I don't know the stats off hand for drop balls (I'm sure I could find it if I looked hard enough) but I can't remember Eli dropping many throws. I like Parker, I like Honey Mustard, I like Michaelee, but I love me some Eli. Also, just in case you forgot, the kid is just a Junior this year. Teddy Heisman may not be slinging the rock to Eli next season but whoever takes the reins will have a solid target.

Sweet Tweet: No twitter for Eli, but after his 4 catch 62 yard Sugar Bowl game I thought this was fitting...

I think Florida just got mean mugged.

#88 Jarrett Davis

Class: Senior

Ht/Wt: 5-9/172

Position: Wide Receiver

Hometown: Tyrone, GA

Twitter: @jdavis_88

Thoughts: Jarrett had a respectable season last year appearing in ten games and making seven grabs for more than 50 yards.Davis had his breakout game against Temple with 3 receptions including an 18 yard completion. Davis is a senior who has been consistent the last two years filling in when needed. Typically in this situation I'd look for a solid senior season from Davis, which still may happen, but the depth at wideout will make it tough to step on the field. Look for another double digit reception season for Davis as I anticipate the Cards throwing the ball around a little more this year. From what I hear we've got a pretty decent quarterback.

Sweet Tweet:

I imagine one day in my house I will stumble upon this large hole that holds every single pen, pencil, battery and stamp I've ever owned. I swear I buy them, but they can never be found...
