#99 Jamaine Brooks
Class: RS Junior
Hometown: Miami, FL
Louisville’s Take: So it appears the "Louisville" section on the official website has yet to be updated from last season. I’ll start adding this information as it becomes available. They knew the countdown was coming and yet still dropped the ball. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Thoughts: Jamaine played a solid role on defense last season, especially as the year progressed. Brooks saw action in 12 games and actually started the last 6, including the bowl game. (You remember; that little bowl down in New Orleans we went to last year. The name escapes me now but it was a pretty "sweet" victory over some team from Florida. FIU? Miami? Florida St? I don’t know, we beat everybody we play from down there.) Jamaine backed up Roy Philon most of his sophomore year and took last season as an opportunity to show some off some skills. He finished the year with 19 tackles including 1.5 for loss. Jamaine did experience a rough injury earlier this year in camp and underwent successful offseason surgery. Not surprisingly, all signs report to a full recovery and us seeing big 99 back in action this fall. Jamaine is a big piece of what I consider the best D-Line unit Louisville has had in quite some time.

Know exactly how you feel Yung Louie. Had a bad experience on a field trip to a chicken farm back in ‘95. Still keep my head on a swivel at the Chik-fil-A.
