It's like they always say: If you can't beat a team with a one-armed, one-legged quarterback, hire their senior associate athletic director.
According to numerous reports, Rutgers is set to name longtime U of L employee Julie Hermann as its new athletic director. The current senior associate athletic director has spent her last 16 years at U of L.
Hermann will become the first female to run the RU athletic program in the 200+ years it has existed. She will also become just the third female to serve as a current athletic director of a BCS program, joining Debbie Yow at NC State and Sandy Barbour at California.
When you look at what U of L has done over the past decade (or just over the past year), you can't blame Rutgers for making this move. Hell, if I'm DePaul, I'm hiring a Louisville intern.
Best of luck to Julie in Piscataway. She will be missed here.
