I apologize if this is old news to some, but I'm unaware of this being announced publicly previously. I'm hoping this all comes to fruition as it has been explained but for this upcoming season, it is my understanding that PJCS's audio will be upgraded.
This audio upgrade includes equipment as well as a DJ. The DJ is DJ K-Dogg. Some of you may know him, but if not he is most commonly at Sully's, Prime, Wicks, and various other bars/clubs around the city. He is a great DJ and well known. I believe that some of the credit is due to Joey Wagner for K-Dogg's hiring. Joey is a large promoter and a friend of many amongst the Louisville community. I myself am a Project Engineer by day and a DJ in my spare time. I have worked with and around DJ K-Dogg and have confidence that provided the right opportunity, he will deliver a great experience before/during/after games as I'm not sure of his exact role.
Most importantly, I feel, is the equipment upgrade. I am a huge music enthusiast and I strongly believe that it is a huge motivator and facilitator for the crowd/players/coaches. I have been complaining for years that the stadium needs additional volume to create a more energetic and appealing atmosphere. I actually think at times, someone controlling the audio has teased us with higher volume levels using the existing system but never maintained that level. My thought without knowing the upgrade plan, is that hopefully there will be added speakers to the scoreboard above the party deck. I think with the shape of the stadium, the crunchzone end is the area most in need of volume. Often times during the intro videos it was extremely hard to hear.
For the most part, the audio controllers have made good music choices and have done a good job with entertaining the crowd, but this upgrade could/will elevate the stadium to another level of quality. I hope that the upgrade happens and I'm not made into a liar because it may just be the only source for excitement as we all GET ON THE TRAIN and run the competition in the ground! Let's GO CARDS, undefeated and National Championship here we come!
