While were all certainly atwitter about what's happening on Manhattan, our own Elvis Dumervil is caught in a ridiculous pickle out in Denver.

Apparently, he was offered a $4 million pay cut (from 12 to 8) to stay at the Broncos and keep under the salary cap. He was offered this around 1pm, and orally agreed to it at 3:25pm EST, with 35 minutes left to get the paperwork in and finalize the deal.

But, the fax didn't spit out until 4:06pm, past the deadline. Because there was no agreement on Dumervil's employment in time, the Bronco's cut Dumervil. So, not only was the $8 million deal scrapped, but because his name was off the roster pending negotiations, he didn't receive his previously-agreed to $12 million salary that would have been guaranteed.

Elvis, an incredible and also expensive player, is now on free agency and may be out of a job next year because a damn fax machine was 6 minutes late. Sucks.

So today, pray that Boeheim ends his night disappointing and Elvis Dumervil winds up with a sweet gig somewhere, preferably at Denver.
