No official announcement but reports are coming in from everywhere that the Catholic 7 appear to be splitting with the remaining teams in the big east (wait for it) in July of this year. Although the "Catholic 7 sounds awesome they will also be taking the "Big East" name with them in July.

This Is BIG news for Notre Dame and Louisville, who can now look to jump to the ACC much sooner than expected. Cards fans remember in the initial ACC letter announcing Louisville's move they stated that Louisville could move to the ACC whenever our Negotiations with the Big East were completed. Anybody up for winning an NCAA mens basketball championship this last year in the Big East before moving to the Acc for the 2013-2014 season?? rejoice
