The time has come to let Griffin Ghoul fade into the darkness and bring to light a new character from the realm of UofL-themed Towel Animals. The newest towel animal will join a group of already almost completely famous towel animals at the Hampton Inn in Elizabethtown. Those include, Teddy the Teddy Bear, DeVante the Devil Ray, and Griffin Ghoul the Ghost.
In keeping with relevant holidays of the month, the selection was fairly easy as to what the animal should be. I mean there are only a couple holidays in November, and honoring the veterans with a towel laying on the bed in the "shape of a flag" might not go over too well. The other major holiday is the one we will select. Thanksgiving has only so many symbols, so it should be obvious to anyone reading this "blog" which one we chose to create. That's right, the half opened dented can of cranberry sauce. Okay maybe not that one either. Then I suppose the Turkey is the one we will have to go with. Fine. Sorry half opened dented can of cranberry sauce, you'll have to wait your turn down at the end of the bench beside Dillon Avare and Chane Behanan.
When naming this turkey towel animal, a few points factor into the decision. Who is relevant? Now that Basketball is starting up and football is in high gear, volleyball and soccer are winning AAC Championships, Baseball just had their Pizza Bowl, Field Hockey is rolling along, Tennis and Swimming and Diving are revving up, just how do you choose one person to honor with this tremendous strutting Tom. You don't honor someone from one of those sports. You honor the man most responsible for getting each of those individual sports back to a relevance unmatched in years past. You honor the man who puts the puts Louisville First and continues to build and advance out athletic department program by program to heights undreamed. Most importantly, you honor the man who is your reigning CC Man of the Year. Also, alliteration factors into these things at times as well. Presenting T.J the Turkey (Terrence Jennings? No. Not Terrence Jennings.)
