So it's come to this. It's come to the point where adult human beings have to be told how to behave like adult human beings. There has recently been a rash of extended threads addressing trolls. This is concerning for a few reasons. First, when I'm busy wasting time at the office I'd prefer to not have to sift through inane, facile commentary. I mean, I'm trying not to get work done here. Second, when someone is "trolling" (this is a verb now?) the obvious thing to do is simply ignore it and move on. The passion of some of the folks here seems to make them believe that fanning the flames with comments that are almost as ridiculous, arbitrary and unthoughtful will somehow make the "troll" go away. Really you are simply making my time in the bathroom unnecessarily uncomfortable. Stop desecrating the sanctity of my alone time.
And lastly, people here have seriously thin skin about what is "trolling" (still a verb?). The big name out there currently is Hondo. I suppose he's considered a "troll" due to the fact that he seems to believe Louisville is mostly average at sports. While I do not agree with Mr. Hondo, I also find it hard to believe that someone is a genuine troll when they list your team in the top twenty of a given sport. His behavior is trollish, as he seems to enjoy the comical rage it incites, but his commentary is usually not disrespectful in terms of the language, he never personally attacks players, and he mostly provides commentary and or top ten lists. Almost all of these things I think he gets wrong on the merits, and while there may be some purposeful fun he gets out of listing Louisville just outside the top ten, it is hardly worth 67 comments about how he's the worst thing on Card Chronicle. Your responses, however, often are the worst. Again, I'm trying to ignore my son and read about my beloved Cards. Cut it out.
Now for the guy that says Teddy Turdwater... fuck that guy.
