Cardinal football fans are invited to vote for head coach Charlie Strong for the 2013 Liberty Mutual Insurance Coach of the Year Award.

Liberty Mutual Insurance allows fans a daily opportunity to cast their vote for the 2013 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award, the only college football award that supports both charity and scholarship through its winners by celebrating one coach at each college level who best exemplifies responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and excellence both on and off the field.

Why should you vote for Charlie Strong? You don't need a list, but I'm going to give you a list.

--First coach in Louisville history to lead Louisville to back-to-back 6-0 starts.

--Inherited a program that had made "Louisville secondary bad" a saying, and has since made the Cardinals the No. 1 scoring defense in the country.

--The Tennessee stiff arm last December.

--He buys you flowers.

--Has a 31-14 overall record at Louisville, including a 22-4 mark since the Cards pulled off that Friday night upset of Rutgers two seasons ago.

--Could be considered the father of the 3-3-5 defense.

--Taught you how to ride a bike.

--Is without question the coach best-suited to guide U of L into its new life in the ACC.

--Brought Teddy Bridgewater to Louisville.

--Kept DeVante Parker and James Quick in Louisville.

--Has Louisville in the best position its ever been in to finish a regular season unbeaten.

--Had all 60 Cardinals in summer school perform 5 hours of community service each in addition to their class load.

--Has participated in the Down Syndrome of Louisville Pro Celebrity Golf Tournament to raise money for the organization.

The 2013 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year voting and selection process involves fans, College Football Hall of Fame players and coaches, and college football media with key dates for all fans to show their support:

Sept. 25 - Dec. 3 - Fans can visit CoachoftheYear.com or the Coach of the Year Facebook page to cast their vote. Fans can also join the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year community on Facebook to experience a wide variety of video and editorial content featuring college football coaches from each of the four divisions.
Dec. 10 - 10 FBS finalists are announced in conjunction with the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame Class of 2014 induction in New York City.
Dec. 10-22 - Fans can vote for the 2013 finalist of their choice by visiting CoachoftheYear.com or voting on the Coach of the Year Facebook page. Votes are also cast by two select panels - one representing the College Football Hall of Fame and one comprised of select members of the media. Winners are ultimately determined using the following voting weight: Fans 20%, College Football Hall of Fame 55% and Media 25%.
Jan. 6 - The 2013 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award winners are announced in advance of the national championship game in California.
