Let's go back about a month and a half ago: Rutgers announced that they were heading to the Big Ten, and hope seemed bleak for the Cards and their fans to get out of a Sinking Big East Ship. Then we had a REALLY bad weekend in sports with the stunning football loss to UConn, Gorgui Dieng's broken wrist, and the loss to Duke in the Bahamas.
Let's take a look at what has happened over the last month and a half and find out how we recovered from that.

11.19 - News breaks that Rutgers will be moving to the Big 10, leaving Louisville and the rest of the conference's situation looking bleak - UConn believed to be top candidate to replace Maryland in ACC
11.22 - CARDS look subpar in win over Northern Iowa in Battle 4 Atlantis
11.23 - Men's Basketball blows by highly touted Missouri team, but Gorgui breaks wrist and is out for 4-6 weeks (because Mike used a picture of Gorgui as the Game Thread Pic)
11.24 - Football loses to UConn in triple OT - Teddy Breaks his wrist and sprains his ankle
11.24 - Men's Basketball loses to Duke in Basketball without Gorgui
11.25 - Football falls out of the top 25 in the AP Poll, hangs just inside in the Coaches
11.26 - Cards slip in the Basketball top 25 to 5th and 6th respectively
11.26 - Uconn believed to be the next addition for the ACC. What more can we do? No Point anymore
11.27 - Big East adding Tulane for all sports and ECU for Football - "Really?" Said everyone everywhere.
11.27 - Gorgui's wrist surgery goes successfully
11.27 - UK hires Mark Stoops. Meh.
11.27 - Reports begin to surface that Louisville is one vote shy of getting the ACC invite
11.28 - We're In! The ACC adds the CARDS in a unanimous vote - life has meaning again - news of Mark Stoops hire becomes an afterthought
11.28 - Some jerkwad reports that HCCS has interviewed for the Auburn position - really? We just got the greatest news in forever, and now this? And the day before we play Rutgers for the chance at the Big East title and a trip to the BCS
11.29 - Louisville starts Sunny Will but TD Bridgewater comes in and beats Rutgers with only two working extremedies - looks like we are heading to the Orange Bowl! BCS Bound baby!
11.29 - Shawn Watson and TD have one of the most heart-felt, touching moments in UofL Sports - Awesome, that was awesome
11.30 - Northern Illinois defeats Kent State for the MAC championship, looks like the Orange Bowl for the CARDS - would have been nice to get the Sugar bowl, but hey, we'll take it
12.1 - Louisville survives an upset bid against Illinois State
12.2 - Reports that Northern Illinois will finish in the top 16 in the BCS begin to spread, which means we could be heading to the Sugar Bowl
12.2 - Louisville accepts its bid to the Sugar Bowl versus Florida, let Herbstreit's trash talking begin
12.3 - Ole Miss commit DT Finesse Middelton declares he is CARD Strong and that HCCS is Staying
12.3 - TD Bridgewater wins the Teddy Bridgewater Big East Offensive Player of the Week Award
12.3 - Charlie Strong is being rumored to be in the running for many high profile Head Coaching jobs in the SEC including Auburn and Tennessee
12.3 - HCCS gives a controversial press conference in which he answered if he was staying with "I will say that at the right time" and said our fans need to be more like UK's.
12.4 - ESPNU's Chris Low reports HCCS to Tennessee is basically a done deal
12.5 - CARDS work on a Contract Extention for HCCS
12.6 - HCCS addresses the media and ultimately declares his Enthusiasm and Heart are with the University of Louisville. He is staying.
12.6 - TD Bridgewater and HCCS win top honors for the Teddy Bridgewater Big East Offensive Player of the Year Award and the Big East co-Coach of the Year
12.6 - Tom Jurich discusses the Charlie situation and essentially wraps up the 2012 CC Man Of The Year Title for himself

12.29 - Men's Basketball snaps the losing streak to UK, looking very convincing at times, and beautiful women and innocent children across the world rejoice

Wow. That was some month and a half. Just when it seemed like times were going to get rough and sports were going to have to become just another part of life, greatness happened. If you are a Cards fan and did not enjoy the turn of events from the first couple of entries to the remainder of this time period, there might be something wrong with you. I hope you remember where you were when you heard the news, whatever the news was.
This has been a very special time for UofL Athletics, and the next year has the potential to be just as exciting if not more. We have a top 5 team in Men's Basketball looking to bring home a Banner and some Rings. One year from yesterday, the BCS National Championship Game will be played at the Rose Bowl, with the CARDS having just as good a shot to make it there as anyone. Here is to the last month and a half and as much good luck as we can get our hands on moving forward. The Future is Comin'! Go CARDS!!!
