Keith Kelsey, a three-star linebacker from Gainesville (Fla.) High School, committed to Louisville on Monday morning, but it's the way he committed that may have become the bigger story.
Sitting behind a table with hats from U of L, South Florida and Kentucky, Kelsey did the "this fall I will be playing for" routine before reaching for the UK hat and putting it on. He then said, "Psyche! I am a Louisville Cardinal, baby. Go Cards."
That should garner a nice response from the other side...and from people who still enjoy utilizing "psyche!" in jokes.
Kelsey, who stands 6'1, 220-pounds, recorded 193 tackles in his senior season, including 6.5 sacks sacks, and also notched forced five fumbles and blocked two field-goal tries. He helped lead Gainesville High to the Florida 6-A title game.
Kelsey is rated as the No. 46 inside linebacker in the country by ESPN. His father played the postion at Florida.
