The sophomore forward will miss just one game because of his high ankle sprain.
Despite setting a 7-10 day timetable for his return earlier this week, Louisville coach Rick Pitino now says Chane Behanan will return to the court on Saturday against South Florida.
Behanan sprained his right ankle in practice early on in the week and sat out the team's win over Seton Hall on Wednesday.
"He told our assistant coaches he's ready to play and that was news to me," Pitino said. "With Chane you never know. It's actually not his sprained ankle that's bothering him right now. In doing the x-ray they found a (bone) spur and that's where he's getting the pain. He says he can play, so I'm going to take him at his word. He may not start, but he will play."
Behanan, who is averaging 11.4 points and 7.1 rebounds, was replaced in the starting lineup on Wednesday by freshman Montrezl Harrell. Harrell responded with a solid 14-point performance on 7-of-9 shooting.
