Russ Smith has been consistently moving up the board on CBS Sports Player of the Year watch. This week, he is #4, behind Plumlee,McDermott, and Burke. The longer the team plays well, the higher Russ will climb. I believe this not because POY has to go to the MVP of the NC, but because the better we play, the more sportscasters and writers will have to pay attention to our guys.

As it stands today, Russ is our MVP, but if Chane plays the rest of the year like he did last Saturday, he will get major consideration as well. Of course, to those of us who are long time fans, Peyton is the glue that holds this team together. I would not want to be a voter when it comes time to choose the team MVP. The choices might be too tough.
