According to Evan Daniels of Fox Sports, Louisville is no longer involved with Xavier transfer Dez Wells.

Wells, who was expelled from Xavier earlier this month. had been set to visit U of L this weekend. He has also scheduled visits to Maryland and Memphis.

Bottom line, Dez Wells is an extremely talented player who had multiple connections with U of L and who could have helped the program greatly for three seasons. Unfortunately, Louisville doesn't have a scholarship available. It sounds as if the staff made multiple attempts to try and make it work and ultimately could not come up with a way.

To make matters worse, Wells is on Kentucky's campus right now. He had shown immediate interest in the Wildcats last week, but then reportedly eliminated them not long after. Apparently with Louisville unable to have him, the Cats are back on the table.

Here's hoping Mangok Mathiang is the real deal.
