Andrea Adelson at ESPN has released her All-BE team and suprisingly has listed USF's BJ Daniels as the top QB in the league. (let that soak in for a second)
In "fairness" (?) to her, Daniels is a 4th year starter...and in her ranking of the top players (at any position) she did rate Daniels just one spot higher than Teddy (4th and 5th, respectively). She is from Florida (although she's from Orlando, not Tampa), and may see Daniels a little more regularly than Bridgewater.
But I think Bridgewater is twice as good as Daniels rignt now. Honestly I think if USF could trade Daniels for Bridgewater they would do so in a second. Over the past 3 years, Daniels seems like more of a "potential" star then a "could have been but never was."
I know we are higher on Bridgewater than Daniels (for obvious reasons), but is Daniels really a standout? Would he rate in the top 30 Qbs in the nation? I really don't think he would.
She raves about the 2600 yds he threw for, but he only threw over 300 yds 3 times (Ball State, Florida A+M and Cincy). That doesn't scream "Star" to me.
