I have been patiently waiting for rain all summer as the heat and drought slowly kill off patch after patch of grass. I tried to save off what I could by watering, but after one or two water bills it is all but dead now. I had given into the fight of my lawn, and started to focus on an early forecast of 87 degrees and sunny for the kickoff to my Cards football season. I was making plans and defending our honor, when a hurricane 'soon to be rain event' happened to catch my eye a couple days ago.
Now, what started as a beautiful day can only be described by WHAS11 as 80% chance of rain and misery. I want the rain, but come on... couldn't it have waited just a little longer?????? Regardless of the weather, I will still go and plan on getting soaked. I hope the outcome won't come down to the wet terrain or someone getting hurt from the traction of the wet turf. My wife may stay home, but to my friends with whom I tailgate with every year for the past decade I say... LET IT RAIN.. I will be there with a smile and a soggy hamburger bun.
